Long time Linus viewer, recent forum member. What do you think of my build? I'm always anxious to learn something new, so if you have better part recommendations, I'd be interested to hear why! Thanks.

Fractal Design Define r5 case

i7 6700k 4.0ghz CPU

MSI Z170A Gaming M7 motherboard

CoolerMaster Hyper Evo 212 heatsink

850W EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 80+ Gold PSU

Samsung 950 pro 256gb m.2

Samsung 850 evo 500gb SSD

MSI GTX 1070 Gamer X GPU (when I can get my hands on it)

Asus Predator X34 ultrawide monitor

I added an extra Fractal Design Venturi HP-14 case fan to the front for positive airflow in the case and the cooler is a single fan push config.

For a build like this I would get an AIO CPU cooler instead. Also, personal preference, I would get the ASUS ROG PG348Q monitor instead.

Not everyone wants an AIO, as it brings things with it that regular aircoolers don't require, but I'd highly recommend you opt for a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 or a Noctua NH-D15 so OP can overclock and have a more silent build if he wants an aircooler

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

You could drop the 950 pro as it won't make any real difference for load times.

The psu could also be dropped down to a 650W/750W depending on the price difference.

I personally think just the 850 Evo will be enough for the OS, I'd get a 2 or 4 TB HDD instead of that m.2 drive. Also, get a better cooler, the 212 Evo is fine for an entry level CPU, but not for a high end one. You should get something from Noctua or be quiet!

It would have nice if this list was in pcpartpicker.

You might consider dropping the 950 Pro and going with a 1TB 850 EVO ssd.

The Hyper 212 EVO seems a little out of place in this build. It is a good budget cpu cooler, but you might want to consider getting something that will allow for a better overclock and/or run a little quieter. Cryorg and Noctua have some very good models.

An 850W psu seems rather large.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
