Does anybody think it would be interesting for Linus and Luke to have a scrapyard wars episode on a custom built gaming laptop? What do you want them to do for the next scrapyard wars (if they are doing another one)

Do you mean they'd have to find a used laptop?

For instance they would have to get a barebones laptop and then find compatible components and what not.

That would be near-impossible. Do you have any idea how difficult laptop motherboards and stuff are to come by?

not possible tbh, laptops that use replaceable cpus and MXM cards are hard to find, and you wont find them scrapped around as they have high second hand prices due to rarity

I really enjoyed the Modded case one the best out of them all probably, so what if they did a themed mod or something? like, smallest/compact pc case mod with a mini-Itx or something

Not really a thing otherwise everyone would be doing it. Just try and make a custom phone, you can't. I think a hackintosh episode would be fun. See how cheap it can be and beat a mac pro for $4k

Making an actual laptop? Not going to happen.

 

But you could do a Portable PC build where they both have to create a computer that will fit inside a backpack, be powered by a battery, and have a built-in monitor (Eg: Attached to the side panel, etc).

 

That's doable. But I'm not sure they have the hardware mod skills necessary for something that extensive. BSMods would have been excellent at something like that though.

I think a mini ITX PC while fitting a decent GPU would make more sense. Limiting themselves to say max 7-8L

I like the idea of a portable PC but maybe upgrading a raspberry pi might be cooler for scrapyard wars or even just a video on the upgrades you can put on a raspberry pi
