The Lumia 550 is now a mere $99. Whereas surface book is $150 cheaper and Surface dock is $100 cheaper at $99.

The Surface Book and Lumia 550 are cheaper in HK but not the Dock .

 

I decided on the Pro 4 and probably snagging the Dock.

i'm just looking at the phones, the 550, 640 xl, and 650 to be specific, i can't even completely afford the 640 xl and 650(only have $160 USD)

I own a 640 XL. The camera is actually decent. Battery is amazing. Make sure it's the LTE model.

 

Are you sure  the 640XL is $100 off? II thought MSRP was only $249 USD.

Still wayyyyy better than the 550.

 

Honestly borrow $40 and pay somebody back later. it's worth it!

yes i'm sure its $100 off  and theres nothing on the store for the LTE version and in the tech specs for that one say nothing about LTE only GSM and WCDMA(it will most likely be on T-mobile so will have to use GSM)

If there's no mention of LTE then it's the 3G variant.

 

Still a great phone and even better battery life .

 

I reviewed it when I got it here ->  I wrote this as someone new to smartphones as you can see in the title

for some reason Microsoft has stopped selling the LTE version but is still selling the normal version, but i did find it on newegg for $213 USD(or should i say $330 normally but on sale for $213) so i'll see if i can convince my dad to let me get it, any relatively cheap cases would you recommend

There's also a dual sim LTE variant but that shouldn't matter to you.

It's worth noting though that the difference between LTE and 3G will be quite huge even though it uses Cat 4 LTE (150Mb/s Upload and 50Mb/s Download)

The case that it comes with is really sturdy but it can get a bit oily with fingerprint oils

My bad. when I said it already had a case I meant back cover.

 

it acts like a case cos it's super strong Polycarbonate Plastic!

 

And you can buy the phone with different colors: Blue, Orange, black, white
