error code 0x80072F8F

i bought a new laptop and discovered it had windows seven on it. i used the activation key that came with the laptop and everything booted as expected. Next, i decided to upgrade to windows 10 where is said that my cpu, memory, and disk space were fine but my operating system was not activated. So i pressed the activate now button and it gave me the error code 0x80072F8F. What should i do?

none of them are for windows 7

True... that response was written several months before the release of Windows 7!
