I know some odd bits about overclocking but voltage is always one that im not sure about and i was wondering is it possible to over volt your cpu cause im currently running a 4690k at 4.5ghz and 1,275 v on an msi gaming 5 and when i get to the 1.29 area the bios number turns red and i was wondering if i turn the voltage too high will i kill my chip and if so what is the max voltage you could run through the 4690k?

as long as you have good enough cooling to keep it below 90C then you can use 1.29v just fine

but 1.275 is already really high for a 4.5GHz overclock, i wouldnt go much further
