Hey guys, I just signed up so I apologize in advance for all mistakes I might be making and/or posting in the wrong forum etc.

So, I'm buying my friend's old PRE-BUILT "gaming pc" for only 50€ so there isn't much of a loss even if it's total crap. Anyways, the computer has a gtx 640 and a i5 3350p. I don't know the exact specs for mobo, psu or anything really because he has no clue about computers and got the prebuilt as a gift.

I'd be glad about any recommendation about what I should upgrade first because I'm on a tight budget. I don't care if it's AND or Nvidia and I only want in for gaming.

Thanks in advance

i would wait for the RX 480 and benchmarks for it, the CPU is still  decent so no need to upgrade that just yet

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

A gtx 640 MAY indicate that your PSU will be a tad light so please check that when you can. If you want to budget it hard now you can probably find a 750ti for just around $100. But like bananasplit reccomended if the rx480 shows promise waiting till then could be smart. Another option is finding something used but suitable for now for light price if you really want to game now. You can find cards on Craiglist (not to prejudge your age but preferably with an adult) or eBay that will do light to medium 1080p gaming for the price range of $50-$90 if you know where to look.
