As usual, sorry if it's in the wrong board.

Hi there,

For school I'm doing a presentation about the difference and uses of HBM and GDDR5(X). I've found a few techquickie video's about the memory subject, and I'd like to get the transcript for the video's. Can I find these somewhere? Or are they in reach for somebody at LTT? I'm talking about the video's found in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzB4izbKqJnFaNxPRv8pdWDcHdI7quioT. I want the transcripts because I can work more easily from written text, and I can mark for important stuff Linus says.

Thanks!

~ML

I wouldn't use Tech Quickie as a source for a school project, personally.

I'd sooner use Wikipedia.

Not sure if I can agree to that, the guys at LMG seem to know what they are talking about ;-) It's a presentation for my exams, and the wikipedia pages for this subject aren't really extensive enough for that ;-) It's not that they are my only source, there are a lot of good articles out there about the subject, and I've found a few of them already. Ars has a extremely good one for example. But, I'd like to use the techquicky sources as my base, but without a transcript it's a bit more work :-)

I can't comment on all of their videos, but any of the techquickies I have watched that are about fields within which I have particular expertise (Video Coding/Compression, Error Correction Coding, Electronics etc) I have found their information to be at times inaccurate, at others just wrong, and always very, very oversimplified. I'm willing to be wrong, but I don't get the impression that they do a whole lot of research.

I get that they're supposed to be really quick little videos, but maybe the times they are trying to achieve are simply not enough to cover the complex topics they are covering. Channels like Tom Scott and CGP Grey do a MUCH better job at explaining things in short videos.
