USB 3.0 Mouse Myth or Not

TymmVonD

Sorry if this has been posted, I searched to find No results.

I have been having an issue every once in a while with my 3 month old M65 and my USB 2.0 ports.

Once in every 10(?) reboots, my mouse recieves no power and doesn't respond. LEDs don't light.

So if I unplug then replug, the mouse instantly comes back to life. I had everything unplugged while removing molex pins to shorten the cable. Upon replugging everything, without any thought, I plugged in to a 3.0 port this time and forgot about it.

15 minutes later, boot up PC, get into Windows and my mouse feels different. Feels smooth like my pointer glides. Then I remember so...

Does 3.0 technically have an impact on mouse performance?!?! Or are my 2.0 ports so shot, I'm finally experiencing how my mouse was intended to operate?

Mouse doesn't need usb 3.0. same concept as why HDD doesn't need SATA III 6gb/s.

They get no noticeable performance increase because they simply can't use the extra oomph for anything.

Your USB 2.0 ports must just be whacked out.

usb 3 supplies more higher amps i believe, theoretically faster battery charging for wireless mice?  would the mouse manufacturer need to plan for this?

I love more higher amps.

The USB device will only take as many amps as it is engineered to. The port won't force an overload.
