I've been planning on building a PC this month for a very long time. I was thinking the GTX 1070 or RX or R9 490 (idek anymore) as that's always been my price point for GPUs. But I'm all for saving money and if something like the RX 480 gives the performance I need at 1440p or VR later on, I might just go with that.

My question is which GPU should I go with for my needs (1440p 60 fps gaming) or if I should get an older card for the discount when the new ones release?

wait for benchmarks of the RX 4xx card before deciding, also you can get 2 RX 480s for just over the price of the 1070 so im thinking AMD is going to be some insane value this time around

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
