Worth the price? (USD)

I'm gonna be mainly using this for music on the go and sometimes games on my laptop. Music is the main point here

Is the cord detachable from the headset?

Yeah they are worth the money, if you like their sound signature of cause, I don't think that I can descripe them better than what SSL did:

Many will find that the HD 280 Pro offers superior sound and comfort compared to the oft-recommended ATH M50X. This headphone has extended, reasonably boosted bass and adequate vocal and treble clarity. User-replaceable cable and earpads. 

 

But I don't think that you can replace the cable.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

It says user replaceable cable in the description you gave

And i googled it and found it does not have a removable cable.

 

Though i guess its technically user replaceable.

everything is user replacable if you can source the parts and use a soldering iron and / or hot glue gun
