Why is this?

Today i decided it was a good idea to connect my Kraken Pros (rubbish headset, if you're wondering) to my TV, which receives video and audio from my PC via HDMI.

The headseat sounds downright pushier in comparison to the internal sound card of my machine, it feels somewhat equalized, not mentioning the noticeable and quite obvious higher channel volume provided by the "dac".

There's a heck of a lot of hiss when not listening to anything, but that's not the point, this ain't my main audio source.

This is quite curious, it actually sounds a tick nicer than the internal sound card, why is this?

If it sounds more colorful then it's definitely the DAC built into it. Similarly, my onboard audio is pretty decent but when I use Optical to my Bose system it colors the sound a lot more since the DAC in the system takes over.

I'm rebuilding my Hi-Fi system again with a Denon AVR-1905 receiver, i'm planning connect my PC to it via optical out/in present in the receiver and the PC, i think it's going to sound quite nice once i get some nice speakers.

Not necisarily,

Louodness from amp, colorfulness probably from amp as well
