I currently have a Dark Rock 2 on my 4670K @stock speeds. It's configured in pull due to clearance issues with my Vengance Pro RAM. The temps i get on prime 95 are around 60°C which isn't too much but it's much imo.

There are a few ways / questions for reconfiguring my dark rock 2

First off, i want to at least configure it in push again. For that I'd have to remount the fan about 3 fins higher due to RAM clearance. Will this be an issue for the temps at the bottom? Also the fan will probably cover the first RAM slot. My board has ABAB |cooler| RAM config. (see pictures) Should I/ can I put my RAM from A into B slots, so i can populate the other slots more easy later? Also count into consideration that removing my fan is not that easy, because it sits fucking tight.

Then i thought about adding a second fan for push pull. This is actually not to improve temps but more importantly for looks and virtual penis extension. So where can i get another one of these fans, since this is some kind of special 135mm silent wing 2 with 120mm mounting holes? On a side note i want to put even more bequiet fans in my case and custom paint them a little bit, so i don't want different fans on my DR 2.

More important question: how can i mount the second fan, since the DR 2 has only one mounting point. I thought about some springs with hooks, to attach it to the original mounting bracket's back (see pictures). The original bracket sits very firmly so you can easily try to mount something to it. But i might create some rattling noise from the spring due to vibration. That would suck.

I also thought about rasping in a second mounting point. But on the other hand the aluminium fins are very sensitive and i don't have a 3D scanner nor a CAD machine to do it preciseley.  :P

you ahve that little clamp sticking off, where you could hook the fan in on both sides (the handle of the 1st fans mount there on the sides.. you know..) you would have to make some custom mounting pieces for your fan though.. cant be that hard :D otherwise: use cableties or something along those lines

edit: pro made 3d render as a solution for your problem:

dat box on the right is a fan, the black nines to yellow cirle is some aluminium thingy to hook behind that thingy in the yellow circle.. hope you get what i mean.

EDIT2: When using good fans, and when hooking them firmly enought to the bracket on 1st fan there shouldn't be rattering noise

Yes that clamp was what i meant. I could use some springs with hooks on their ends but I'm concerned about the vibrations transferring to the srprings and create noise.

Edit: MS paint FTW!

see my edits, when hooking em good enoguht, and using good fans there shouldnt be vibrations.. if yes there are these rubebrpads which can be sticked between cooler & fan.

Yesterday i wrote the bequiet! costomer service about what i was planing to do. Their answers to it were "No, no, no, noooo, no that won't work either, aaaand nope we don't sell our heatsink fans seperatly." - yeah fuck germans and their strict rules! wait, what?
