R9 490 anytime soon?

Hello,

i made a google search but i couldnt find much about a possible r9 490. I know AMD plans to release a smaller Vega card in Q4 but what about a bigger brother of the r9 480?

No one has any real concrete info. Hopefully we find out something at E3. If not, we'll have to wait till end of the month.

If I were to guess, because Vega has HBM2 (making it faster than GDDR5/GDDR5X), Vega would be the Fury line. 

 

As for the 490, my best guess is that it will be released August/September. Possibly announced in July, right after the 480 releases. 

 

But in reality it's all guesswork, we can't really know when the cards will come out. We do know for a fact that they will be this year, though. Haha.

r9 490 = vega, probably

rx 480 is probably the fastest polaris we can get.

There probably won't be a bigger brother of the rx 480 because it's possible the rx 480 contains a fully functioning polaris chip.

But hey who knows maybe we'll get a big suprise later.

the 390 is seen as high end by AMD and Vega is high end and polaris is mid and low end. So  the 490 should be high end aka vega.

That would be a bit sad. Half year to go then but oh well my gts 450 does its job for now

they are rumored to come out in October.
