I want to build a really really budget oriented gaming machine. I have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, diskdrive, ram, and hdd with windows already. So that leaves a PSU, case, cpu, and mobo. I want to start out using the Intel Integrated graphics and once I save up more, get a graphics card. The integrated should suit minecraft just fine on low settings, and thats all I really am going to play on it. I just want to make sure all these parts will work with each other.

PSU: Corsair CX430

Why I chose this: The PSU is something that you don't want to fail. Corsair seems to be a pretty reputable brand with their power supplies and cases. 430W should be plenty for the processor and a low end 6 pin graphics card.

PROCESSOR: Intel core i3-3220

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3734679&csid=_61

Why I chose this: Wanted to do an Intel based build so I chose this. It is not unlocked but it really doesn't need to be. This along with a low end graphics card should run Minecraft just fine. It has Intels 2500 graphics. For only 120, seems a good deal.

CASE: Thermaltake V3 Black edition

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5520044&Sku=T925-3018

Why I chose this: Supports the MicroATX board I chose. Plenty of fan slots to choose from. Bottom mount psu with dust filter. Good deal for the price.

MOTHERBOARD:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4500556&CatId=7162

Why I chose this:

Simple MicroATX board for the LGA1155 processor. 2 system fans 1 cpu fan header. 2 ram slots for my 2x4 . Supports onboard video from the processor. Has a pcix16 for future upgrades.

---

Those are the parts I chose and bundled with the parts that I had. All this came in for about 240 which is the max amount that I have. I am pretty sure that they will work with each other but I do have a few concerns.

-Will the mobo work with the processor for the integrated graphics?

-When it comes to Wifi, will that pcix1 on the mobo work?(pcix16 will be taken by graphics card in future) Do I just get a wifi card and slip it in as well? If I do, does that need external power?

---

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does your MoBo support your RAM? You may have to rethink or junk the RAM.

WiFi cards come in different slot types some PCI some PCI-e (I have just thrown out one that fitted an ISA slot)

The WiFi card should fit in the X1 PCI-e slot Just ensure your WiFi card can PHYSICALLY fit a X1 slot (Slots are backward compatible so a X16 slot can take a X2 card and a X1 card [as well as a X16 card])

MoBo is listed as being suitable for all i3 processors, so you should be fine.

With a new MoBo and new processor you are going to have to at least re-activate your Windows. Probably by 'phone; if you catch the operator on a good day they may well just give you a new activation code if they believe this is the only system that copy of Windows is on.

My RAM is just some Dell ram that I got with my previous pc. Probably wont work but I'll give it a try. So I couldn't just use my old HDD with Windows already installed and just swap it over? I would have to buy a whole new copy?
