So EVGA is selling Founders Edition of GTX 1080, and probbably GTX 1070 in the future.

Since it's from EVGA, does it mean that we can change cooler to waterblock and we won't void warranty?

Or is that just for other versions of that card (like SC, FTW, Kingpin, Classified etc.) ?

Just another edition I think, since nVidia want´s to stay in the market with their "premium" cooling solution they rebranded them and want manufacturers to sell those

Yes you can change the cooler, but I would get the SC anyways, it is the same card as the reference model but cheaper.

FE is paying extra for a shitty cooler, so i wouldn't get it if you're going to watercool

True that, but after GTX 1070 will be avaliable for sale, it will take another 2-3 weeks for SC to come on market.

Kinda in a hurry to upgrade my GPU xD

Not realy underperforming since PCB is exactly the same as from EVGA SC.

But you are right. It does cost around 50-70€ more.

In terms of noise, temperatures yes, it is far worse the FE version

Yeah with stock cooler, but as I said, I'm planning to put waterblock on it, so I don't realy care about that.

The only down side is that it cost more.

But on the plus note, I will be able to get it much sooner.

But I'm also wondering if for GTX 1070 it will also take that long for aftermarket cooling to arrive on market. As I heard, GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 are almost the same, so EVGA doesn't need to redesign those coolers, but just make more of those for GTX 1080, and just put it on GTX 1070. I hope because of that, it will speed up proccess a little bit :)

Or are those companies with aftermarket coolers forbiden to sell card with changed cooling in some perioed of time (like for first 2 weeks after FE release)?

I think that when the 970 launched, reference cards(Really rare though) and custom cards launched at the same time. Hope it is like that
