1440p would be fine but I'm sure if you had a 1440p and 4k monitor side by side you'd notice a difference

You should go for a 27in. monitor for 4k.  That is my opinion.

I know, but in theory, would I see a better difference if it were a 4K 24" monitor? That's the question I asked. And it seems like it's been answered thanks to @HPWebcamAble and @GreezyJeezy

I have used a 27" 4K monitor.  It is very useful but felt small; bigger is better.  a 34" for example would be awesome and still offer higher density than 1080p at 24"

I think that at 24" 1080p is good enough.  1440p might help there, but is not necessary.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

Anyone here with experience, rather than predictions?

I just wanted to know if it was theoretically going to be better. I can do further research on reviews and other threads etc. But if someone were to comment with experience, I'd happily accept that.

Theoretically, yes it is better.

But not enough to justify the price of 4k in my opinion.

Maybe you can go to a store somewhere and physically look at some 4k, 1440p, and 1080p monitors in action?

I'm not planning on buying one for a while, I was just wondering if I'd have to change my monitor setup because I'd need a 27" +

what's in front of your eyes will look much better. but will your hardware run fast enough to keep you happy with it? even a 1080 doesn't render 60fps 99% of the time without making concessions.... and i say this keeping in mind the average user vs some internet guru with highly over clocked computers doing reviews.

well waht is better is 1080p at that small, the bigger the screen the bigger revolution you want, the smaller the screen the lower resolution you should get

Well I have a 22" 1080p display and a 15" 1080p display on my laptop, and it is very noticeable, so even though I haven't used a 4K screen I can say with confidence that you will see a difference between 1080p and 4k at 24"

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I would've thought that there is a massive difference between 15" and 22" as the 15" can't display 'true 1080p' because there isn't enough surface area for pixels to exist.

We've had the capability of making screens with 1920×1080 resolution and higher at 4"-5" for a while now, we use them on phones all the time :P

The difference between 24" 1080p and 24" 4K is definitely noticeable, though not practical for everyday use. The benefits that 4K offers in terms of productivity are somewhat wasted on a 24" screen, as everything is so small without scaling. With scaling, several applications will look strange and text can seem blurry.

I would advise a minimum of 28" for 4K, as it's the point where the resolution becomes practical from a productivity standpoint IMO. For 3D modelling, I find 4K at 28" is very helpful as you can have multiple view ports open and there's load of room for shortcuts. Same goes for video editing.

Last I checked a laptop exists that is 13" and 4K
