Hey guys!

I've already planned to upgrade from the MSI GTX970 to a GTX1070.

Should I immediately buy the 1070 when MSI releases their version of it, or wait like 1-2 months to let the prices drop and also see which aftermarket cooler will be the best on 1070, and get an i7 4790k instead (I currently have i5 4590 which is lagging a bit in some games).

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

As someone with the 4790k, I can tell you that it's a great CPU but I regret not going for skylake when it's only $40ish dollars more

If I were you, I'd wait for the aftermarket 1070 coolers. After you've got the 1070 work on upgrading your CPU

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

If I upgrade my cpu, I can sell my i5 4590 for like €150 amd after that buy the GTX1070. Btw I still have my 970 and it's sold for €275, but my friend haven't bought it yet.

You should upgrade the cpu first and then go for the gtx 1070.  If you are upgrading just the gpu then wait for an aftermarket cooler for it.  Example the Evga acx 3.0 gtx 1070.

I'm not going to get the FE and I wasn't planning to. First I'm getting the 4790k and after that I'll be getting the 1070.

Get CPU and then wait for what AMD brings to the Table with Polaris. Compare it to Pascal and choose, hf

I will take a look at AMD RX 400, but I'm getting Nvidia anyways. I want/need Shadowplay.
