Do you have to overclock unlocked CPUs

No you don't HAVE to but if you don't plan to you can save some money by buying any non-K version if you're going with Intel.

Well... You kinda have to breathe, eat, drink water, and sleep.... 

But to answer the OP, no you don't have to OC a K-sku CPU, it just gives you the ability to. If you have no interest in OC'ing, then save a little bit of money by buying a non-K-sku CPU and put it towards a better GPU or SSD (if you're building a gaming rig).

To live yes, you don't have to but it's probably a good idea, unless you don't want to live

It's not necessary but that's what they're for, if you're not going to OC then don't buy one just go with the non K version instead.
