Hello LinusTechTips community,

Today I call upon you all in my quest to help find a solid 850W power supply / a PSU with 2x 8pin CPU power connectors for my dual Xeon X5550 server. I keep experiencing random shutoffs and I'm assuming it has to do with my current setup which is splitting the 8 pin power from a single EVGA 650W 80+ Bronze PSU into two 8pin CPU power connectors which is drawing too much power. The cooling is excellent and I can't seem to find any other issues or possible points of failure.

I'd LOVE to get a redundant PSU that can fit into a standard ATX mounting bracket or just a really solid PSU, my budget is 60 bucks and under and I don't mind (and actually prefer) buying off Ebay.

60 bucks...? That's not gonna get you a solid 850W unit. Also, 650W is plenty to power two CPUs so I'm not exactly sure why your system is shutting off.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
