Reinstalling windows

I have a laptop i have recently bought from Dell and am wanting to upgrade to an SSD.

 

I have found the product key for windows but will it let me activate windows on the same product key if i install windows again on the SSD in the laptop?

I've had problems with retail keys not activating after installing a new storage device. But not with oem keys.

In a worst case situation, you can get windows 10 keys for like $30.
