Hello all.

 

So I have a really old PC with an AMD Athlon 64 3800+, which is a 939 socket. I've seen on the internet that even though it is a 939 socket, it can be upgraded with an AM2 CPU. I've also seen others that have said that this is BS and are not compatible.

 

So my question is: "Is 939 actually compatible with AM2, or is someone smoking good stuff? Who is right???"

Let's make it clear once and for all, you can't put an AM2 CPU in a Socket 939 motherboard!

 

If anyone thinks you can, they probably didn't do five seconds of research:
