Sold my 780 TI SLI, is the price good?

I just sold my 780 TI SLI (2x). Both went for £360 (GBP), but I'll be getting clean £300. Was it a good deal? I'm gathering money to get 1080TI in SLI.

The 1080 is about 2x the power of a 780 Ti, and the 1080 is 600 quid, correct?  so each card should be worth like 300, minus some value for the fact it's old, minus some value for the fact it's used... yeah 360 for both seems reasonable more or less.

Technically, I got £150 each. Ran fine at 4K, but I'll have money next year to get myself nice pair for 1080 TIs and I will perhaps upgrade CPU and motherboard for the money from these GPUs. I just wanted to know if £150 for each card is reasonable? Two years ago I paid £440 for each card.

Yeah I think it is pretty fair.  It's hard to know sometimes, since there so many things to compare to and I'm not super familiar with that currency and your typical prices but I think that's reasonable

Thank you! I wanted to sell it now, and I have to admit I sold it quite quickly. GTX 1070 is coming out and people would buy that over my 780 TI in SLI as it will have the same sort of power as both of 780 TI and more V-RAM so hey... Now I have to buy a crappy GPU replacement (£10 or so) until October / November to get 1080TI.

Considering 780Tis were selling for£200-250 when I last checked (2 weeks ago) not really. You sold 2 970 ish equivalent cards for less than a 960.

2 weeks ago the new stuff hadn't been fully announced (iirc).  What are the current typical prices?

The same, just checked, there isnt all that many on ebay but they are around £200 - £230.

huh.  Well I know prices on a lot of 900 series used stuff dropped as soon as the 1080 press conference was done but maybe that was temporary while hype was high?

Put it this way, 780s are still selling for £175. And you sold a better card for cheaper.

1070 is coming out soon, and prices will drop even further. I decided to sell it quickly (took me 1 day) and get it over with. Not to mention, they eat a lot of power (1000W is needed for SLI) so yeah...

Not for long, in about two weeks 1070 will come out and crush prices even further. Not to mention, all of the auctions on E-Bay have price tags of around £200 and no one is buying them tbf.

 

Also, a newer card 970 is selling for £200 also.

150 is a fair price and this is why you managed to sell your cards. With the advent of new GPUs, I would personally neither ask for more than 1/3 of the original price or, at that, pay more than 1/3 of the original price for an older generation cards...

Good for you - it was about time for your to switch. The problem now, though is that you will wait till 2017 to get the 1080 TI

My friend sold his 780s last week for £185 each.

If he bought them for looks, then it was worth it, if not... Then not really. I'd personally just get a hybrid cooled card (factory made).

Iirc everything but the storage and custom loop was used components. And all cost him under £1k from what my friend said.
