Hello

 I have a problem my pc. I built a custom gaming PC about 2 months ago, and I have a problem that seems to only get worse. Most of the games I installed dont run at 60fps, regardless of the graphical settings. But the problem isnt constant. Sometimes games run a constant 60fps @ 1080p, but sometimes, the same game will run at 20-30 fps. I have encountered this problem with The Witcher 3, Warface, Diablo 3, Dying Light and the most recent is Doom. I've got all the drivers updated but that doesnt appear to be the problem.

My config is:

i5 4690@3.5Ghz;

 ASUS GeForce® GTX 970 OC STRIX, 4GB GDDR5, 256-bit;

8 GB HyperX Savage DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 1.5V;

ASUS B85M-GAMER Motherboard;

HDD Seagate Surveillance 1TB, 5900rpm, 64MB cache, SATA III;

Corsair CS550M 80 PLUS® Gold CP-9020076-EU, 550W, ATX 2.3;

Deepcool Maelstrom 120T watercooler;

I am running Windows 10, and I'm considering reverting to WIn 7 or Win 8.1

Any help is greatly apreciated

The drive won't affect the FPS, only loading times.

Unless you have a broken drive or a drive from the 90s, you aren't going to have issues.

Another issue that I noticed is that whenever i start Windows the Asus GPU Tweak starts but it usually is not responding as soon as it starts up. Dont know if that is a big issue.

Remove that thing - it's crap

I'll remove it. But does the fact that i run windows 10 affect my performance? Should i try Win 8.1 or just go back to Win 7?

Try the driver I mentioned - the current ones are utterly broken

Ok. I'll use DDU and use the drivers you recommended and see if i see an improvement.

The most obvious drop in framer rate i've been having is in Doom. I open the game, the intro are laggy as hell, but once i get in the main menu it runs the game in 60-140 fps. But sometimes when i start the game the introsrun smooth, but ingame i'm stuck between 20-30fps. I tried running it in fullscreen, borderless and there are slight differences of 2-3fps max.

it actually does. the cases are rare. but your drive being under load will affect certain games dramatically.
