A good monitor for 1080p gaming?

Hello there!

I have no clue about monitors so this is why i need help on a good one!

I will be needing a new monitor soon for some 1080p gaming the current one i am looking at can be found here:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-VC239H-inch-Full-Monitor/dp/B00YQKTGR8/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1464080945&sr=1-3&keywords=monitor

All i need to know if it's good enough for what i am doing and if there is something better then please let me know my budget for a monitor is around £100-£150 ($140-$220 for Americans)

Thanks in advanced

Note: if anyone needs my PC Specs for what ever reason then here

I'd personally recommend a TN panel as i've found that they're better for gaming as linus says here

Personally i'm using the BENQ GL2250 monitors (the GL2450 is just the 24" version), they're within your price point here in the UK and i have had absolutely 0 problems with them. They're pretty nice. Hope this helps :)

32Gb Corsair Xms3 DDR3

Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980ti

Asus Z87-A Motherboard

Samsung 120gb SSD

For cheap monitors, the LG 22M38D & 23MP47HQ are good quality for the price.

For more expensive monitors with higher refresh rates and response time, The Dell U2417H is the only monitor I would consider other than the ASUS ones. (Your current choice is fine, along with all the VP, VE, and VC screens they offer)

Even so, there's not much difference in the slightly higher price.

This is good advice - do this if you can.

I had GL2460 (only 60hz just like IPS panels). If u want 75Hz get LED TN otherwise I would suggest IPS with 5ms response ti.e maximum.
