Hi all,

So i'm trying to build a system for my mum and she is used to vista so I'm planning on keeping vista for her. However with the latest mother boards i don't see any vista drivers. Anyone know if there is still vista compatibility?

Thanks in advance

There is good chance that everything will work as it should, however why are going to stick with the old horrible Windows Vista? Windows 8 is so much better.

Windows 7 driver will work on Vista, 97% of the cases. But why use that horrible excuse for an OS, get her Windows 7, it looks the same, just faster, more reliable, and uses a lot less resources.

If This build has a tight budget I don't See any reasons to go With any other Windows OS. If the computer is slow no Windows Will save it So just stick With Vista as it should Work With win7 drivers as said (Anything can happen though) Meeting System specs probably helps but it shouldn't be har these days. And remember service packs

I love how many vista haters there are. Mum has had a vista system for like 7 years now. Never a problem. It has some features she uses daily like the inbuilt photo editing feature in the photo gallery thing. Thing is most manufacturers dont have vista drivers. Would i use no drivers or what? I never do this so im unsure haha

Hey vista haters, VISTA WORKS FINE. Vista was ahead of its time and runs fine on todays hardware. Although 7 is faster vista is just as capable. I have vista on my laptop and absolutely love it. All vista needs is 4+ gbs of ram and a decent dual hyperthread processor. Even then throw an ssd in it and feel the speed.

i dont think i would recomend win 8 with the metro ui becus he is building this pc for someone (i think) isnt very good with computers so i would recoment to keep it simple

Definitely try and convince her to go for Windows 7, even though Vista is similar and it'll most likely work. Having a properly supported OS is better than having an OS which honestly wasn't that good.

One can always use Start8 just like I do. You get the look and feel of Windows 7, but with the superiority of Windows 8.
