Hello guys! I am planning a mini itx build. I want a realy fast graphics card, becouse i have been changing my parts continuously and i am tired of it. I want a gpu that can handle 1080p gaming at very high setting. I am thinking about a gtx980, 980ti or a fury x. Which of these will give me the best bang for the buck? I know thr 1080 is coming out but it will be over 950usd where i live. So i wait till it comes out so the prices drop. Is amd realy that better in dx12?

What about the 1070? It's launching a week after the 1080 and might get you better performance than the 980 or maybe even the 980ti, no benchmarks yet so its hard to say.

they said that the 1080 will be 600usd, it is 950usd in my country. Now for the 1070, they say it will be around 400usd so expect 650-700usd. Then the prices for the 980ti will drop to 520usd then(same for fury x)

Does your mini itx build have space for a full size graphics card?  That could be a severely limiting factor in some situations.  I wouldn't really go with anything under a gtx 980 for 1080p gaming if you're buying now and looking for it to last a little while.  I had a 970 for about a year and a half and came across quite a few scenarios where I was turning certain settings down to maintain playable frame rates in some of the more modern demanding games, so it's only getting worse from there.  It depends what you like though, its still a very respectable card.

We havent seen 1070 benchmarks yet, but I would expect it to be similar to a 980ti.. I would wait until it's available and just see what is cheaper for you between those 2, if a 1080 is going to cost too much.

Thank you for your answer! I will wait for it of course! Gonna build in the Phanteks enthoo evolv itx or NZXT Manta, so no gpu issues there :)

I hate it when people are this blind.

THE PRICE OF THE 900 SERIES WILL NOT DROP

Never has a launch of a new series o cards caused even the slightest drop in price.

The 780ti is only $30 less than launch price, and that's just because there are so many of them, not because newer models bumping the price down

If u plane to only gameo at the 1980p resolution, anything aboveo a 970 is probablies over killz. Most of those cards are for the 1440p or even 4k gamingies.

There is no such thing as 'overkill' for a GPU. Overpowered for 1920x1080 gaming, maybe, but it's not overkill. It just means the GPU won't have to work as hard to end up with the same results. Reduced power consumption, heat, noise, not to mention more capable for handling new titles with more demanding graphics for longer. I'd rather have a 1070 running at (this is just for metaphorical purposes, I have no idea what the performance will be IRL) 50% than a lesser card slammed at 100%. I'd wait for the 1070 details/benchmarks and go from there. Even the Polaris GPU's (or even the current 380/390/x's with 8GB of VRAM) could be in line for what you're after. If you feel weird that you're not using your new GPU to its fullest extent, there's always DSR to increase the rendered resolution and downscales it back to 1080 (generally better results than typical AA techniques).
