I have built a gaming PC for the first time in my life. Here's my config:

Cpu- amd fx 8320 unlocked

Gpu- nvidia zotac gtx 970

Memory- 8gb kingston hyperx fury

Storage- segate barracuda 1tb hdd 7200 rpm

Mobo- gigabyte ga 78lmt usb

Psu- corsair vs series 550 watt

Cabinet- circle cc 830

However, i'm still missing some components, like a dvd drive, a ups and a display, so please suggest me. Also please tell if this rig is good for running latest titles on maxed out setting or not. Any suggestions other than this wd b really helpful as i am new to building a pc

What's your budget?

If you can make the switch to Intel, do it - an i5 shouldn't be much more with a mATX mobo. And that PSU is a big no-no, it's crap quality. Something from SeaSonic or XFX would be better.

You don't need a UPS or DVD drive (unless you plan to install Windows using a disk).

Spoiler

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K - 4.5 GHz | Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO | RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 | SSD: Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB | GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB | PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 | Case: NZXT Phantom 530 | Cooling: CRYORIG R1 Ultimate | Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Peripherals: Corsair Vengeance K70 and Razer DeathAdder

1. PSU is craptastic :D so get anything from Seasonic/XFX (except the XT ones, they're  outsourced and have 85C caps which is a big no no on PSUs :/)

2. get a i5 over the 8350, the IPC is too low on em so you would bottleneck the 970 in some games that are especially CPU heavy :P

3. Get a 1070 over the 970 if they turn out to be good (or even polaris)

4. Budget? You could maybe add a SSD for them snappier browsing and generally doing desktop stuff?

5. No need for an UPS

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Thanks for all your prompt replies, i was actually thinking to switch to intel and i hv one in mind and that is i5 6600k. Tell me if it's a gud processor, and if not then please suggest some near its range. Also Please suggest some mobo for it. Also i was willing for buying gtx 1070 instead of 970, as it is looking good on launch. Also thanks for the psu suggestion, i would consider that too. Also suggest some good cpu cooler for overclocking. Also please suggest a good gaming monitor upto $150. Also please let me know if a 240gb kingston ssd wd be gud enough or not. Also suggest some gud ram , currently i hv one stick of kingston fury hyper x 8gb

-The i5 6600K is one of the best CPUs on the market right now. However, you'll need to dig out some extra cash for a Z170 motherboard to overclock.

-For the CPU cooler, it depends on your budget. On the cheap side, the Cryorig H7 is a great choice.

-For the monitor, I recommend any 1080p IPS monitor if you're not playing competitive games like CS:GO. The Acer R240HY seems to be a solid choice.

-Depends, is that SSD the Kingston V300? If so, ditch it. The A-Data SP550 is a much better choice.

-RAM is RAM so anything goes. If you liked your Hyper X RAM, perhaps get the DDR4 model for this build.
