Hi everyone, i would like some help and advice from experienced people here, i am planning to get a new build that will be used mainly for 3D desing and rendering (not for gaming) my budget allow me to go either for high-end CPU and fairly good GPU or the other way around (looking at the GTX 1080 now :D), so here is where i am scratching my head because i am not sure which is more important for 3D is it GPU or CPU, Thanks you all.

Check with your software creator. Some 3D design software is heavily GPU accelerated and some is not. If it is GPU accelerated, I would say to get a Quadro if your budget could handle it as they are optimized for this sort of work. Otherwise a GTX 1080 would be fine. If it is not GPU accelerated then try a i7-5960x or i7-5930k
