notepad++ - how to highlight text and match area in preview plugin?

jonnyyyl

Hi all

I am new to this space. I got myself Notepad++ to try out some baby step programming.

In tinkering with HTML, after having installed the Preview Plugin, I have faced a minor problem. I like to know which corresponding code I highlight represents which area of the preview panel/window. Something similar to Chrome's F12 function, where you can highlight/toggle/point a certain area of code and the window would show you which area you are referring to. How do I achieve that in Notepad++. If such function is not available in Notepad++, what software should I use to achieve that effect??

Also, what is the difference between mhtml and html?

Thank you.

why not use chrome developer mode (chrome F12) to debug? It's the most reasonable way to debug websites and webapps imo.

You could try Brackets (brackets.io), it has integrated support for that.

You dont need Extract.

Extract helps you with converting a Photoshop design into a webpage.
