  1. 1. Upgrading my pc, what should I do?

    • Sell my i5 4590, 8GB RAM, Z97 mobo and upgrade to i5 6600K, 8/16GB RAM and Z170 mobo, and also upgrade GTX970 to GTX1070
    • Keep current system, and upgrade GTX970 (a friend buys it for €275 when he has his pc) to GTX1080.

Hey guys! I want to upgrade my pc.

The options I have are:

-Keep my current pc and upgrade from GTX970 to GTX1080. And upgrade later to new chipset

OR:

-Sell my i5 4590, 8GB RAM and Z97 mobo (friend is buying GTX970 from me) and get Z170, 8/16GB RAM and i5 6600K and also a GTX1070.

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

cant say for sure

what games do you play? are the upgrades really necessary?

are the games you play cpu heavy or gpu heavy?

also, 1070 benchmarks arent out yet, so i cant really give a clear answer

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I play games that are both GPU and CPU intensive. GTA5, Battlefield 4, Arma 3, The Crew, ROTR, JC3

i'll choose the 6600k for these, if these are what you're playing often

I could also sell my i5 4590 and buy an i7 4790k (I have Z97 mobo) and get a GTX1080
