Most likely overheating. Not RAM, otherwise wouldnt boot.

So you said you had OCed but later you said you hadn't. Have you or have you not overclocked?

 

Check that the header that your CPU pump is connected to is constantly at 100% within the BIOS.

Did you forget thermal paste? Is the mounting secure?

 

Run AIDA64 stress tester and tell us your temperature results after 15 minutes

Yea, sounds like overheating protection kicking in. If temps are not getting to dangerous levels in the 85+ range, I would try flashing your motherboard bios as the diode might be false reporting and causing the thermal protection to kick in.

I'm not sure how to flash it

You would need to look up a guide for your specific motherboard make/model or similar which will use the same features to accomplish it if it is indeed a false positive that is happening. But what I would recommend, go sign up for an account at EVGA and download there precision X software, you can setup an onscreen display for games that can show you both your GPU temps and CPU temps so you can see if it is indeed thermal induced shut downs. If not, then it sounds like power supply not able to handle a load.
