I've been trying to push my EVGA 980 Ti FTW. But I've been having way to much trouble over clocking without it freezing my whole system or crash the Video driver. I finally just backed it off to a setting I knew worked. EVGA FTW 980 Ti Clocks. If someone is able to beat this and get it stable, let me know, but this was the best I could do. I'm getting a little tired of the crashing and I wonder if I'm just doing it wrong altogether. :P:(

My 580 3GB can't match some of the 1.5GB models, but 911mhz from 775 stock is still hefty IMO, remember not all silicon is the same.

This was my OC during Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark. Full GPU load.

EDIT: Watching this video, but Jay was using Titian X's. Probably reference design I bet.

EDIT EDIT: Could @LinusSebastian Make a updated video about overclocking a 980 Ti FTW? He hasn't done one since his NCIX days.

whats your ASIC on the card ? ive run into some real shit ones ASIC doesn't mean its a good card or not but in my experience lower it is the more work it is to OC . im guessing you max out the MV for voltage and power limit and temp limit on the card thru afterburner or evga one . my 970's do 1600mhz on core  each post a screen shot or vid  with the graphs while running valley benchmark at the highest preset . also gpu-z what does it say power target limit ect. you probably have a dud card unless you bios mod it

I don't know what ASIC is. And how could I have a dud card when it's brand new??

you got a bad card it will work fine just wont OC for shit .download GPU-Z install  it right click on the window top left and there is a option read ASIC quality . post it back with that  i have what is called a good bin most cards only do 50-200mhz i have 350mhz+ core on mine. evga make you pay more for a better ASIC on the kingpin line of 980/ti cards high the % the more they change . but its not a complete reason just ASIC gives you a hint if the card is going to avg or insane or a massive dud . i went thru 15+ cards to get my 2 970's that i wanted . but i had strict things i was looking for

ASIC stands for Application Specific Integrated Circuit, and generally describes a computer designed for carrying out one specific set of calculations/instructions very rapidly - since all it does is that one thing, it can do it very quickly.

The best example I can think of is bitcoin miners. GPU mining is more effective than CPU mining because the GPUs have more computational power that they can bring to bear on the mining process. Ergo, they are able to come closer to 'ASIC-quality' - the quality of a machine designed specifically for that task.

I've never come across it used in that setting before, but that's what I think it means. As for the percentage, who knows. If 100% = ASIC quality, 70-80% strikes me as pretty good

no 80 is good for air cooler if its a watercooled card then not so much if you have the power target set to max pushed the temp limit up and unlocked voltage you should have a good card . what you using to OC afterburner from msi ?

I have an erratic work schedule so it's hard sometimes :(

I'd say completely uninstall your driver and go try out 361.75/361.91.

Then try only messing with core clock and power target,  don't touch voltage.

Try like +50 first, if no go, try touching voltage a bit.  If still no go, the card may be a pile of poop :(
