Hey guys just wanting to ask people who have experience with orange LED fans, should i get orange fan blades with a white LED, or clear fan blades with an orange LED? Also, does anyone have experience with the Corsair H80i and whether i should use the fans that are provided or buy some others. If so could you tell me your opinion on it or whether there is a better/quieter/more effective option for around the same price.

Last thing, i think we need a thread for fan suggestions and other cooling devices so here one is.

(Also for showing off your epic cooling setup!)

If you want a glow then use clear blades with orange LEDs. For the H80i the fans with it are just like the SP corsair fans just a little bit different. If you want the most silent for performance fans then try the Noctua NF-F12.

CPU: Intel i5 3570k 4.2GHz with Corsair H100 RAM: Corsair 16GB (4x4) SSD: Samsung 840 120GB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB GPU: Strix GTX 1080

PSU: OCZ 650W CASE: Fractal Define R5

that case.. uh, it's only my opinion but HEC/Cougar cases are kind of meh and that one looks pretty hideous.

let's try something like this instead

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nzxt-phantom-410-black-with-orange-trim-mid-tower-2x120mm-1x140mm-with-side-window-w-o-psu

Will have much better build quality and features.

I would also go with Win 8 OEM and skip the CD drive, not really necessary. I've had one for like 2 years and used it like once lol.

Error: 410

I looked through all the cases and i liked that one the most but the Phantom 410 was actually my second choice, and i think that the case looks nice but that's just my opinion. I also hate windows 8 and have been told many times that 7 is the way to go. Also i use CD/DVD drives a fair amount but i didn't want to spend much so i chose one of the cheapest which i think is fair enough.

are you sure you need 16gb or ram? you dont need much more then 8 unless you are doing 3d stuff or video rendering ect. The case seems a bit odd but if thats what you like then take it.

I just bought the case and it does look a lot better than all the pictures show it so yea :D

Also i am planning to do some small scale video rendering so that's the reason for the 16gb's.

As a first time build what do you think though?

Depends on what your budget is for this build. But other then that seems like a nice first build. You have a lot of new stuff like 1150 and a 700 GeForce card. You have room to overclock with the H80i and you have a SSD. Other then that the dvd drive is useless to me because everything is download or USB now a-days but if you need it then get it.

For orange fans have a look at cougars lineup.

The fans on the H80i are meh at best, can make things alot quieter with some decent fans. In saying that, a decent tower cooler like a D14 will perform better and be quieter.

As for the rest, there are already a ton of threads asking about fans out there and people aren't going to stop posting them, so good luck with that I suppose.

As for showing off your cooling setup, check the link in my sig ;)

+1 to the cougar lineup!

I'm not sure about the new 4670k but just keep running load tests till you have it stable. i heard 4.6 from some other post but just run tests
