Hi, I'm planning for the Deepcool Genome water cooled case. I'm not sure if I can just fill the water cooler with tapwater or just drinking water. I heard you need coolant liquid or whatever but I'm not sure so help me with what I'm supposed to use for a water cooler. Also, how would I fill the water cooler up if it's just a rad, the waterblock that contains a pump, and this helix reservoir. It looks like this (look at image(sorry if it's a bit too small))

You could but I don't recommend it how much could you pay for cooling liquid?

I have an Anet A8 as my project printer and a i3 MK3 for when I want things to work.

I extrude my own filament and haven't saved a penny yet.

Like, I wouldn't really spend 100$ on cooling liquid because why, it's just liquid so I'd say cheaper the better but with high perf, if the perf differs with the cooling liquids.

I've heard this us a good coolant you mix this with distilled water I don't know how much you need so get as much as you need for your loop.

that is a link to some coolants.

and to fill it up you put it in the reservoir pun the pump intill the coolant is gone and keep doing this in till it stay full.

So I have 2 more questions. What do you mean by compatible with my tube? Isn't all tubes the same (except hard tubes). And why do you need a coolant liquid?

Tap water has minerals in it which can cause issues with the loop, some coolants might not be compatible with all plastics. Most coolants on the market have biocide and other chemicals for mixed metal systems which tap water or distilled water doesn't have so you'll need to get something like a kill coil or other biocide additive along with stuff for a mixed metal system if you just use distilled water.

I just want to mention that that is an AIO unit that comes prefilled from the factory, it doesn't require fluid out of the box. However it is a mixed metal loop as it's a copper block and aluminum rad so they must have a proper anti-corrosive and boicide in place to prevent galvanic corrosion if you were to refill the loop for whatever reason. It's a bit of an oddball loop TBH as it's not an expandable loop but still allows one to open and drain/refill parts of it.

More details on it by MNPC tech really good info:
