Is it the version with the SSD? If it is then check your power settings and open up task manager and see whether a program is hogging the resources :P

If it's the version without the SSD then, time to grab a screw driver and upgrade it to an SSD (not sure if this model even exists...a model without an SSD :P)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

That explains it. ULV i7s are weaker than desktop i3s. It's essentially a glorified lemon. Try using Firefox and less tasks in the background

So the better version of my 4500u...with the MX100 I have paired with it, it doesn't feel sluggish at all :P hmmm...still think it's either a power restriction or a program hogging all the bandwidth...

30 tabs of chrome? ;)

ULV CPUs are poopy since the 15W they are allowed to use are also shared with the iGPU. Hence why an i5 4200H is over 20% more powerful than an i7 4500U even though both are dual-cores.

On the contrary. The T420 I use in the office is more powerful than a standard i3

10 tabs of chrome with CSGO running at 1080p 80fps (with 8GB of ram and a 840m) isn't bad no?

I guess :P, since it already has a SSD, the only real way to get it to run faster is to either to a fresh install of windows or...not sure really...

840M........... If the iGPU isn't running the ULV chip is 50% more powerful :D
