GTX980ti Pci.e 2.0 cabling

Hey all,

I recently completed my first self-made PC build. Excluding an ongoing problem with my Windows product key, everything went great. Despite this, I do have one doubt. My GPU is the GTX980ti and is powered by 2 Pcie3.0 cables, or at least that is how it's supposed to be if I am not mistaken. However, the box only came with one 8-pin adapter for the 6-pin cables of my PSU. I therefore went into town to buy another adaptor but could only find a 6-pin to 8-pin Pcie2.0. I still came back home, plugged it in. Booted the system, installed the OS (without the product key), drivers, programs etc... Computer is running brilliantly so far, though I haven't tried any gaming yet. Is that 2nd Pcie2.0 cable going to be an issue for my video card?

Power is power. It does not have a revision like a system bus would. That's just them marketing that it's for PCI-E power.
