I was planning a build for myself to build during November 2013 to March 2014 as I will be on a break and I did some theory building but I ran into an annoying issue - the motherboard.

The build I had in mind was going to a typical black/white build (simple and clean) and I had selected each part to fit the theme but I can't seem to find a nice motherboard which fits with my theme. The parts I was thinking are as follows:

- CPU: i5 4670K

- GPU: Galaxy GeForce 780 HOF*
- RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast @ 16GB
- Cooling: NZXT Havik 140
- Case: Nanoxia Deep Silence 1
- Storage 1 (Boot): Samsung 840 @ 120GB

- Storage 2 (Mass): Seagate Desktop SSHD @ 2TB
- Storage 3 (Back-up and misc.): Seagate Barracuda @ 4TB
- PSU: Seasonic 760W Platinum
Monitors/Peripherals: N/A (will be using what I currently own)

The PC will be predominately used for gaming - I based this build around the idea of being able to run Star Citizen at "high" and multimedia content creation/editing (which would I be doing if my current rig could handle it)

The budget and source of component will not be a big issue as to put it bluntly, I don't really care as long as I can keep it below $2500 (the reason I'm giving myself a big budget is because I'm currently running stuff off a brick and it's painful, I need some major therapy  :P )

*I am aware that is more silver than white but it's close enough and it has white LEDs - like, who doesn't like LEDs?

Old compnents happen to be a GeForce 9600GT, Intel Pentium, etc. (my work laptop is more powerful...) but it does run the games I play at minimum (better than nothing to be fair)  :D

TL; DR; Any suggestions on nice motherboards which fit a black and white build will be greatly appreciated! Also, any feedback/suggestion on the parts will be awesome as well (haven't built a PC since 4+ years ago  :o )

Gigabyte Z87-D3HP? Black with silver/grey accents with a tiny bit of blue.

The Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 doesn't have a side window, does it?

And the Kingston HyperX Beast has an ugly green PCB under the heatsink, why not get some geil black dragon?

My vote allllll the way. One of the only motherboard manufactures that I trust (MSI, Asus are the others). Black PCB which makes a massive difference. Matches your color scheme and has a ton of bells and whistles.

Sabertooth Z87? PdeioDhYSzedGC7v_500.jpg

I think it would look nice with white LED's

Also for your storage 1, you might want to go for the pro or the evo version of the 840.

Sabertooth will probably look the best, but I don't see anything that would justify the price, except the looks (I'd get it only if I painted the armor white). That Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H would be awesome too. Somebody mentioned that the Beast RAM is ugly. It may have a green PCB but the heat spreader is so big that you won't be able to see it, so feel free to get it (I have them so I can tell). You might also consider white Corsair 600T, I think it will look awesome with the rest of your build.

Nanoxia recently released a side panel for the Deep Silence 1 and dat black PCB on the geil's.

I'll probably end up using a Gigabyte Z87 board, they're not super expensive *cough*ASUS*cough* and they seem to have really good reviews.

you might want to hold off on buying a graphics card, Nvidia should be announcing new cards end of this years for release q2-q3 next year. as for motherboards i personally like Asus (3 great boards from them) and the Sabertooth z87 goes well with any build that has black in it.
