New motherboard choice

My cousin got a dell XPS 8700 a little while ago. Shortly after they threw a PNY 970 in there for gaming. It does well, but the stock cooler just isn't enough. I gave him a 120mm AIO but it won't fit in this dell case. For his coming up birthday, I'm planning to get him a corsair carbide case, and his dad will get him a new motherboard. What's are some good choices to look at for a 4th gen i7-4790 at about $150 or under?

The non-k version right? Also how feature packed do you want this motherboard. You could spend $50 on a mobo or $150 on a mobo.

knowing prebuilts, you might not even be able to re-use that psu's connector for the new motherboard if it's using proprietary connectors

but something like this?

Yep non K. He doesn't need to overclock yet. He's only 13. As far as feautures really just usb3, more than one PCI slot, and 2 ram slots.

and also a new cpu cooler? since you mentioned about swapping away his stock cooler but did not mention anything about it after lol

just make sure the cooler fits in the case you're going to get, or vice versa
