Shock mount

Lays

I've got this lamp myself, and the mount is both vertical and horizontal. I've disassembled the lamp portion myself to grind down the bit preventing it from turning 360 degrees. The actual mechanism that holds the lamp on the arm is two pressure clamps grasping a cylindrical bar - the cylindrical bar attaches to the lamp shade via 2 screws. You could probably make these pieces work in your favor relatively easily if you want to go the mod route.

actually that may work, how long does it extend? (nohomo)

My idea has worked for me. Boom mic stands are cheap and shock mounts screw on natively. Just screw the stand to the ceiling. It actually looks really cool as well. Ceiling studs 16" apart, you can use a speaker magnet to find nails in the sheetrock. It works even better if it's an old house with planks behind the plaster.

I got a laser stud finder :)

If I were to use words It would be an essay.

This is the simplest example I could find: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z__PvW8pSxc

That was a rhetorical question: Laser stud finders don't exist because lasers don't go through solid objects without burning through said object or emitting harmful radiation. Your stud finder might have a laser level, and I am plenty clear on how that works. ;)  :P

My turn to double post.

@Lays, I found a boom arm with a mic shock mount, but I don't know if it's compatible with the Yeti, and you'd need to buy a separate vertical surface mount and there's only one of those in existence on the internet.
