Hey guys,

my laptop does very weird things: the cpu usage is at 100% (that's what task manager says), resource monitor says it is at 113% and HWiNFO says it is about 5%.... the list of tasks does not show that a process would use any % of the cpu. I'm running win 10 (recently new installed) and I tried rebooting several times with no achievement and deinstalled avira. Any clue what this could be?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried turning it off and on again :DDDDDDD damn you have...

Maybe it's a virus that's taking up all of your resources? Also, with my mother's lappy, when her laptop starts up, the antivirus she has pins her CPU and hard drive at 100% for a good mins or so...maybe it's some antivirus?

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

deinstalled the antivirus to determine whether this is the faulty thing or not. Didn't change a thing.

The laptop itself feels smooth to work with, but due to the high frequency, the temps are high....

Well, first of all I'd suggest you leave avira where it is, which would be uninstalled, and get a different AV, avira has just gotten awefull over the past years, in both detection rate & system impact.

Have you checked "show processes from all users" in the taskmanager?

@Nord or quote me if you want me to reply back. I don't necessarily check back or subscribe to every topic.

Turn off all start up programs and see what the CPU usage is like?
