Hey, I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum for this but this one looked like it made the most sense. I'm trying to do local recording from OBS and am looking to do 1080p60fps if possible, 1080p30 if not. I'm currently recording 1080p30 but am running into issues while playing games. Its mostly noticeable in csgo where it feels like my sensitivity goes from the 2.5 its at to 1 and the game feels generally less responsive. The recordings are also grainy, which I'm pretty sure has to do with low nitrate. What I'm looking for is settings to try as well as maybe an explanation of what everything is used when recording and why my computer would slow down.

Build:

I7-4770k overclocked to 4.3

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 2GB

16 gigs of ram DDR3, Kingston 10th Anniversary Hyper X (I think)

250 ggb Samsung 840 evo ssd for OS and programs

1tb caviar black for pictures and games

3TB caviar black for video storage and recording to.

Asus Z97-Pro WiFi USB 3.0 edition

Use .264 encoding when livestreaming.

Use NVENC when recording locally, with a higher bitrate.

NVENC has bugger all impact on fps, and is the better option for local recordings.

Try 30000kb/s bitrate with NVENC, for local recordings. Increase/decrease based upon the output quality, to find the sweet spot between file size and quality you're happy with.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses
