I got a bit of thermal paste in my AM3+ socket

I was putting new thermal paste on my cpu and noticed that I  put a bit too much on and got a little over the edge so I popped out the cpu out and there was some paste under it, will this cause issues or do I need to find a way to clean in the holes the paste I was using is thermaltake tg-7

needle or safety pin, very carefully, try to get most of it out of there WITHOUT widening the hole. Don't force it. Unlike LGA, with PGA your really are probably not gonna ruin the motherboard, but for the cpu's sake as well as making sure it contacts well, try cleaning it

Unless it isolates a pin because of the lack of conductivity. 

 

@pettyfan45 Try putting in a bit of 100% alcohol to soak it, and blow it out with compressed air. Don't start poking it with shit.

Actually, it's like two metal feathers pressing against the pin, so the risk of isolating a pin should be very low

oh do poke it just make sure the motherboard consents

I really don't think it'd fuck it up, i'd be more worried about he alcohol personally, but i have steady hands. Alcohol is not a bad option.

if it works I doubt anything could go any more wrong that normal. It either makes contact or it doesn't so yea I'd OC it if you want

So the computer works fine, but when I  shut down the fans keep going and there is red light marked CPU_LED that comes on though if I hit the power button it comes right on like nothing is wrong
