i have a AMD A10 6800k i would like to know what gpu will work with it 400 watt psu

The CPU is not the limitation, your case and power supply are, and the wattage is not the key factory (but it is one of them).

Do you have room to install a GPU?  Do you have any free PCI-E power cables?

What are you trying to accomplish?  The CPU you have, if the case and power supply allow for it, will take just about anything, but the real question is, why do you want one?

i would put a GTX 960 in that bad boy because most of them require only a single power connector and they will work fine with your current PSU.

might want to wait a bit for next gen cards though which are supposed to release soon both from AMD and nvidia...they pack even more performance for the same amount of power requirements.

What power supply did you buy (made and model please)?

Some "400W" power supplies will only have a PCI-E 6-pin power connector -- and depending on what graphics card you are looking for, some may need a 8-pin connector.

Not the best 400W power supply, but definitely not the worst either.

The power supply can supply up to 30A (360W) from the single +12v rail, and has a PCI-E 6+2 and a PCI-E 6-pin power connector.

Since it is only a 400W, and rated at continuous 25*C, I would recommend the following graphics cards:

  • GTX 950
  • GTX 960 (4GB variant recommended)

Another option, as mentioned by another user, is the GTX 750 Ti.

The GTX 750 Ti is lower in price, especially when bought used, but the performance gap between is 750 Ti and 950 is quite significant.
