Hi guys,

I'm planning on building a custom loop PC, but the thing is that I would need to move my PC.
It's not like I'll move it every week, but more like once a month or at most twice a month.
Do I need to drain my loop everytime I move it? I'll be using compression fittings on everything though.
If I dont drain it and it leaks while transporting, is the damage reversible?
Thanks in advance :)

Step 1: Drain it

Step 2: Don't use custom loops on PCs that are intended to be transported regularly

Soft tubing or hard tubing?

How will you be moving the PC, laying down/standing up, in a car, etc.?

You will need to most likely drain it regardless and depending on the extent of the leak and where it leaks heavily depends on how bad it will be.

I'll be transporting it with me in a car, about 30mins ~ 1hour drive.
Will go with soft tubing, as it is my first build with water cooling.

I see, but is it okay if it's just a one time thing, maybe once every few months then.
I might have to leave one system at my hometown if it requires me to drain everytime I move.

I hate to say this since it's not really recommended but yes it's possible to transport without draining. Is it risky? Hell yes but if your tubing is secure enough and your fittings on the radiator tightened properly you could be fine. I transported my water cooled build a couple times up to a convention without draining it, stupid I know but I didn't have any leaks however I know I probably got lucky.

Maybe I'll just drain it or just put tonnes of cloth in case of leaks.

It's not really stupid, but yeah, there are better ways of transporting it.
Anyway, I watched this guide on youtube. This dude is crazy man.

I wouldn't dare shipping it even with all that reinforcement.
Thanks for the reply though.
