bottlenecking

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

It depends on the game but you're generally fine with up to a 7950/7970 especially if you oc.

i have a fx6100 @ 3.6ghz and I'm wondering up to what kind of card it would bottleneck.

at the moment i have a 7850 2gb in the rig, but i plan to sell it, and if my friend asks for a graphics update in the future, it'd be handy to know what this cpu would bottleneck

Depends on the game. In something cpu intensive your cpu will be really bottlenecking that GPU, for example battlefield 3 or starcraft 2 or shogun total war.

In some games that rely on GPU most of the time you'll be fine except for the moments when the game is taxing the cpu.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t ][ GPU: GeForce 9600GT 512mb DDR3 ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ][ HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: No-name without airflow or dust filters Budget saved for an upgrade so far: 2400PLN (600€) - Initial 2800PLN (700€) Upgraded already: CPU
