A Question for the top 3 PPD folders

Hay guys,

I thought it would be interesting to hear exactly what hardware you guys are running to get that much PPD

the people I'm asking in particular are:

 Peter_Purves

Crashfodder

pete_m

I am running 2x980ti's and a 680gtx and usally average right around the 1mil ppd I don't bother with cpu folding as my 2700k only seems to get 20k ppd.

I look forward to hearing about some sick folding rigs!

Cheers

Andy

Use CPU for Boinc, then, as most projects there are CPU only.

Space Heater #1 I7 5930k with 980ti hybrid.  Originally had a 780ti originally but it smoked while folding over the winter.  Storage includes 250gb boot ssd, 3 240gb ssds in raid 0, 5 4tb in raid 5 for media storage, 2 10k raptor drives in raid 0 (Had them sitting around doing nothing). Spends about 70% of its time folding.

Space Heater #2 AMD 8350 with 3 970s.  Liquid cooled media center pc in the basement connected to two separate rooms using usb and hdmi over ethernet adapters.  Mostly used just for tv recordings, virtual machines and folding.  Media center is connected to a hdhomerun prime with an actually functional cable card.

it not about how many ppd you can get, its how long you can run said ppd 24/7 without stopping that gets you the real points!

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

Asrock OC Formula 7970XTX Quadfire

G.Skill Ripheartout X OC 7000Mhz C28 DDR5 4X16GB

Persistence is key :), it certainly doesn't hurt though. Being able

to do in 1 week what someone else does in 3 months.

And yeah, @crashfodder that hardware is nothing to sneeze at..

Nice going. I'm not really in a position where i can invest in more

hardware, so i just got a 970 and my good old 7950 folding atm..

@ropesend Was pretty intense while he was still folding aswell,

he had like 3x  295x2s.

I have two 780's under water, two 560's and a 960. I am definitely getting a 1080 a little bit after release and will be adding that to the fray.
