Do I need to reset my hard drive or reinstall my OS once I change the CPU in my motherboard? I have been told a lot of different things by a few people and want some good clarification. I'm replacing my g3258 with something new soon. Thanks!

When you change your cpu nothing should happen EXCEPT when you boot up for me is said some values have changed and i just pressed enter and it worked!

If it doesn't just boot up to your screen, just put in your activation code and you should be good

No, i really don't think that the OS relies on the CPU for storage.

You're right. It doesn't. Any time power is lost(either due to shutdown or otherwise), any data residing in RAM or CPU cache is removed due to the memory being defined as "volatile."
