So just recently I did a clean install of Windows 10. Right after I installed it, I immediately downloaded the latest driver for my graphics card from the NVidia website. The problem is, when I see what Windows Update is downloading for me, it includes the "latest" driver software of my graphics card. Saw the details and then I learned that it was a more outdated one than what I downloaded (May 2 update)

I haven't installed the new graphics card drivers I downloaded yet because I might get some trouble with the ones Windows is downloading for me. Anyone had the same issue here?

I always run driver sweeper, this put a block in place on Windows re-installing the outdated driver.

i would recomend running the 359.06 drivers instead of the latest ones because the 36x drivers have been pretty shit tbh

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Windows 10 downloaded me a GPU driver with version 358.91. I uninstalled it 3 times already but after a restart, it just keeps reinstalling again.

I already downloaded the 365.10 version driver yesterday. I would pretty much like to use that since it's the latest one.

How can I stop it from installing the outdated one again and again and have me install the new one without any problems? Is the Display Driver Uninstaller effective against that? It says that I should reboot on safe mode. I do not know how to do it.

Is there any significant benefit on running the latest one or should I just live with the one windows installed for me?

When you install windows, make sure that you don't connect your computer to the internet till you're ready.  Follow the guide in my signature if you have any questions.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Uhhh, I already connected it to the internet and downloaded the latest NVidia driver from it. I already chose not to download the graphics card drivers that windows update was doing but it continued to download anyway. I'm not quite sure on what drivers and utilities I have that's already installed by the windows update. But I'm not seeing anything that suggests it's a driver from the manufacturer.

Haven't installed the newest gpu drivers just yet. It's just sitting there on the downloads folder, waiting.

Based on your post, drivers and utilities are 100% and 99% necessary. Couldn't I just download it now since I did the whole step wrong?

Screenshots are attached for your reference.

1. What my device manager looks like.

2. Available drivers/utilities list on Asus for my H97M-E motherboard.

3. Update history from Windows Update.
