1 1080 or wait for 1080ti Kappa

Nothing has been said at this point.  But as 16nm process matures, we will see a 1080ti and/or Titan card which uses the full size GP100 chip.

 

My guess is very late 2016 or early 2017, and 30% performance over 1080

how much money is it going to be? im expecting around 650+ USD by late 2016

if your just on 1080p res 1 1070 would do that without breaking a sweat according to nvidias benchmarks. As for the 1080ti it probably wont come out for another 6 months at least. It also hard to predict a price but i would suspect the 1080ti to be in the 800 dollar range. But if you want to get 1080 or 1070 i would wait till impartial benchmarks are released and wait for non reference coolers.

16nm is very new, so large chips are really expensive to make.  Nvidia is currently making GP100 chips for their $10k Tesla card, so they'll likely have a lot of chips with defects.  Whether they decide to use some of those to make a scaled down GP100 based 1080 Ti is unknown.  It makes sense but it's all speculation at this point.

 

My advice - get a freakin 1080!
