Upgrade CPU or GPU???

Go to solution Solved by alexhelvetica,

The FX 6300 is fine for any graphics card up to a R9 280x, so the GTX 650 is holding it back a lot.

Upgrade the graphics card, then think about the CPU.

i would go with the CPU but keep in mind that you will also need a new motherboard and RAM to do that

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

I'll be upgrading the GPU first but, what is the recommended vram for 3 1080p monitors?

I'd say always go for the best card if you want the best gaming. For 3 1080p monitors i think a 970 will suffice

Intel i7 4790 3.6GHzGigabyte GTX 970 4GB WF3  | Thermaltake Chaser A31 | Z97 Guard Pro

Gaming | Anime | Programming
